Understanding Romans
Romans 3 and 4 teach us that rightesouness is a free gift from God that cannot be earned, we simply receive it by faith. If that is true, why does James say that we are also justified by our works? Balancing these two passages of scripture gives us a clear picture that salvation is indeed by faith alone, but that real faith moves us to specific actions.
