Romans 9 is a difficult passage of scripture. What we argue is that God is not choosing specific individuals for salvation and damnation (double predestination). Rather He has chosen that we approach Him through faith rather than works. Many Jewish people in Paul’s day, and many religious people today, still stumble at this stumbling stone.
